I have a complicated relationship with early mornings. I love how peaceful they are, and being able to go through my favorite morning routine (which I'll be sharing soon) really helps me set my intentions and ease into the day ahead. However, I don't always enjoy waking up before the sun comes up and most of my workdays begin at 6 or 7am. I can safely say the phrase "hopping out of bed" does not apply to me on those days.

And if (when) I'm running late, breakfast is usually the first thing to go. Multiple studies have linked eating breakfast to lower cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, and healthy weight maintenance. The American Heart Association claims that a consistent habit of eating a mindful and healthy breakfast could improve our cardiometabolic health.

I love eating breakfast. It gives me the energy I need to show up well mentally and physically, and helps me make healthy decisions that support the way I want to feel throughout the rest of the day. I also believe that what we eat matters more than when we eat. When I know I'm going to have an early and busy morning, it helps for me to have nutrient-dense breakfast options that are already prepared, so I can simply reheat and/or take with me on-the-go the next morning!
