When it comes to ensuring I get ample amounts of essential nutrients in my daily meals, smoothies are one of my favorite go-to options! Our bodies respond in some pretty awesome ways when we eat nutrient dense foods. We heal better, have more energy throughout the day, have an easier time reaching and maintaining a healthy weight, our organs function optimally, and we just feel healthier overall. It really is amazing how good we can feel when we nourish our bodies well! 

I love a good fruit smoothie, and I've never had an issue getting enough fruit from my daily nutrition plan. So lately, I've tried to incorporate more vegetables in my smoothie recipes, because I oftentimes struggle with getting enough veggies throughout the day. I've found that if I can "sneak" a few veggies into my smoothies, I do a much better job at eating more throughout the day, resulting in me feeling great and functioning well.

I decided to add beets to this beautiful, bright fuchsia, smoothie bowl. Beets are awesome vegetables that contain tons of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories, as well as other nutrients that support a healthy liver (hello natural detoxing), and promote heart health.

My #1 favorite thing about smoothies is how quick and easy they are to put together. I prepped the beets the night before and left them in the fridge overnight to chill, so that all I had to do the next morning was throw everything in my Vitamix and blend it up. It really doesn't get much easier than that!

Because this smoothie bowl is high in fiber, protein, potassium, antioxidants, and Vitamin C, it is a perfect and filling way to begin the day!
