St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Smoothie
Happy St. Patrick's Day! In honor of this Irish holiday and a portion of my heritage, I figured I'd get a little festive and try my own version of a Shamrock Smoothie! Over the past few months, I've done my best to start my days with nutrient dense foods. I love beginning a new day by making a healthy choice! It not only leaves me feeling incredibly energized by all of the essential nutrients my body is getting, but it also gives me momentum to continue to make healthy decisions that I'm proud of throughout the day.
As I was considering what green ingredients to incorporate into my Shamrock Smoothie, I was excited to try a few new things. I usually prefer smoothies of the sweeter variety, but thought it'd be fun to mix it up and try something with a little more of a refreshing kick to it! This smoothie is full of nutrients (fiber, vitamins K, A, B2, B6, E, and C, manganese, folate, magnesium, and iron) that help give your body what it needs to function optimally! Ginger has been known to help digestive problems and cilantro is a powerful cleansing agent, making this smoothie a friend to our digestive systems.
